Birdi Golf · Cybrik Ltd
Privacy policy
This notice covers Birdi: The Golfers Network, also called Birdi Golf, and the birdigolf.uk website.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
Who is responsible for your information
Cybrik Ltd operates Birdi and is responsible for the personal information it processes to provide the service. Contact us at hello@birdigolf.uk about privacy or your information.
Information Birdi handles
- Account details: contact and sign-in information, username, date of birth and any profile or handicap information you provide.
- Golf and social activity: memberships, rounds, scores, interactions, messages, posts, images and shared links or contact details. Club organisers and other players may supply membership, guest-player or scoring information about you.
- Location: your location when you allow access for nearby discovery or maps, and places you choose or share. Searches may send your location to the service; shared locations may be stored.
- Device and usage information: identifiers, notification details, settings, security records and service activity. Clubs with engagement reporting enabled receive information about member activity.
- Group expenses: participants, amounts, payment links and manually recorded payment statuses.
- Safety reports and controls: the accounts involved in a report or block, the report reason, any details you provide and when you submit it. Reports may include information about other people and their content.
- Enquiries: information you provide when requesting beta access, applying on behalf of a venue or contacting support.
Email, username and date of birth are required to complete the current account setup. Other information depends on the features you use. Share information about others only with appropriate permission.
Why we use information
We use information to provide accounts and golf features, enable communication, deliver notifications, report club engagement, investigate safety reports, apply contact restrictions and respond to enquiries.
Our proposed legal bases are performing our agreement with you for core services; legitimate interests in operating and securing Birdi, preventing abuse and handling enquiries; and legal obligations where applicable. Where we rely on consent, you have the right to withdraw it.
The beta is intended to be ad-free. Beta-access requests do not subscribe you to unrelated promotional emails.
Who can receive information
Other users and club organisers can see information according to your profile settings and the audience of the feature you use. Recipients may keep their own copies of shared content.
We use providers for hosting and data storage, account security, email and notifications, app delivery, maps and backups. These providers process information needed for their services.
Reports are stored by Birdi and sent by email to our support team for review. Reporting a user does not automatically notify them or block their account.
External links, including Pot payment links, lead to services with their own privacy terms. Birdi records group-expense information but does not process payments or collect card or bank credentials through a checkout.
Our main app records are hosted in the EU. Other providers may process information outside the UK or EU. Their processing locations and the applicable transfer safeguards still need to be confirmed before this notice is finalised.
Device storage and permissions
Birdi uses device storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences and save scorecard progress. The website uses information submitted through its forms to handle beta-access requests and enquiries.
You can change location, photo and notification permissions in your device settings. This may limit the corresponding features.
Retention and account deletion
Deleting an account disables access and removes or replaces profile information. Historical messages, posts, images, scores and related records can remain and may still identify you. Earlier copies may remain in backups.
Our retention policy for reports and enquiries is to review them when the case closes and monthly while they are retained. Information that is no longer needed should be deleted; anything kept must have a recorded reason and next review date, for example while an investigation or related complaint remains unresolved. This applies to stored reports and related support correspondence.
Our scheduled production backup copies expire after 90 days. This period applies to those backups, not to live app records, support emails or every provider’s copies. Account deletion does not automatically remove safety reports or related emails; these need a separate retention and deletion review.
Retention rules for other historical content and service records, and verification of the report-review and deletion processes, remain outstanding before this notice is finalised.
See Delete account to use the app control or request deletion by email, including removal of retained information.
Your choices and rights
You can report or block a user from their profile. Personal blocking stops direct messages, follows and game requests between you, removes existing follows and pending requests, and does not notify the other user. Shared chats, clubs and confirmed games remain available. Unblocking does not restore previous follows or requests. Club administrators can separately ban users from their club.
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information, and withdraw consent where applicable.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email hello@birdigolf.uk for this or another privacy request. We may need to verify your identity.
You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Age and updates to this notice
Birdi’s public beta is intended for UK adults aged 18 and over. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information.
Changes to this notice will be reflected in its update date. Material changes to how information is used may also require a separate notice or consent.
